Welcome to the Haemophilia Alliance Web site.

The Haemophilia Alliance is a UK wide partnership between patients with inherited bleeding disorders and health care professionals involved in the delivery of their care.

This web site gives information about the Alliance including a list of the member organisations and the names of the individuals who represent these groups on the Alliance committee. It also outlines the main aims and working areas of the Alliance.

The Alliance was formed in 1999 and its first major task was the preparation of a National Service Specification for Haemophilia and related conditions which was published in 2001. The aim of the specification is to promote best practice and to standardise care throughout the UK. The National Service Specification has been updated in 2006 and the revised version features on this website.

This web site will also feature drafts of relevant documents concerning haemophilia care and has a facility to enable feedback comments on these.
