The work of the Alliance.
The Haemophilia Alliance is a unique multi-disciplinary partnership working together with the aim of continually improving standards of care and support for all patients with haemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders and their families throughout the UK. The Alliance endeavours to ensure that all aspects of medical management are standardised throughout the UK and that all patients receive optimal care.
The Alliance seeks to achieve its aims through an ongoing process of informing, educating and influencing professional, political and public opinion.
In order to keep haemophilia on the political agenda the Alliance works closely with the All Party Parliamentary Pressure Group on Haemophilia in the House of Commons. The present main aims of this group are to ensure ongoing PCT funding for recombinant factor concentrates and to lobby on behalf of widows of patients who have died of hepatitis C for entitlement to Skipton fund payment.
