The Alliance is an amalgam of all organisations involved in the delivery of haemophilia care and the patients themselves. The constituent organisations are:

The Haemophilia Centre Doctors Organisation (UKHCDO). This group represents all doctors specialising in the care of patients with bleeding disorders.
The Haemophilia Society. The only national support group for people with haemophilia and related bleeding disorders and their families.

The Haemophilia Nurses Association. The specialist group within the Royal College of Nurses for nurses specialising in haemophilia care.

The Haemophilia Chartered Physiotherapists Association. The national professional group representing physiotherapists who treat patients with haemophilia.
The Haemophilia Social Workers Group. The group representing UK social workers involved in haemophilia care.
The Clinical Scientists Group for Haemophilia. The group representing UK scientists involved in research and development into bleeding disorders.
The Institute of Biomedical Sciences. The UK professional body representing NHS biomedical laboratory scientists involved in laboratory investigation, diagnosis and monitoring of patients with bleeding disorders.

The Haemophilia Alliance Committee

The Alliance has a central committee of members appointed from the individual constituent organisations. Committee meetings are held every six months in spring and autumn. The committee has co-chairmen, one representing the UKHCDO and the other the Haemophilia Society. The co-chairmen alternate the chair for each meeting.

The present membership of the committee is:

Co-chair from UKHCDO – Dr Jonathan Wilde, Director of the West Midlands Adult CCHC, University Hospital Birmingham.

Co-chair from Haemophilia Society – Mr Bill Payne.

UKHCDO representatives – Dr Mark Winter, Director of the Kent CCHC, Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Dr Peter Collins, Director of the Cardiff CCHC, University Hospital of Wales.

UK Haemophilia Society – Mr Chris Hodgson, Ms Margaret Unwin.

The Haemophilia Nurses Association – CNS Chris Harrington, Royal Free Hospital CCHC, London, CNS Mary Edgar, Bristol Haemophilia Centre, Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, Nurse Consultant Vicky Vidler, Sheffield Children’s Haemophilia Centre, The Children’s Hospital Sheffield.

The Haemophilia Chartered Physiotherapists Association – Mr David Stephensen, Kent CCHC, Kent and Canterbury Hospital.

The Haemophilia Social Workers Group – Mr Mark Simmons, West Midlands Adult CCHC, University Hospital Birmingham.

The Clinical Scientists Group for Haemophilia – Dr Anwar Alhaq, St Thomas’ Hospital CCHC, London.

The Biomedical Laboratory Scientists – Ms Jane Needham, North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke.
